Let there be Joy!

At some point every person, has to shake off the cares of the world and enjoy life. You have to throw caution to the wind and take risks. It's healthy, it's needed and it's easy to do. The bible says not to worry about the problems of tomorrow, because tomorrow will have enough worries for itself. This urges us to look for the good in the day we have now, instead of waiting for good to come.

How can we adopt this attitude? Here are 4 steps to get you on your way:

1. Reject negativity- Smile or laugh more than you frown or complain (purposely). Do not allow others to change your mood or thoughts, toward negativity. It's okay to guard your joy and peace of mind, in fact you have every right to.

2. Spend time doing the things you love- All work and no play... It is important to decompress and refresh. You simply cannot burn all of your energy and never recharge. Make a list of the things you are interested in, and set time out of each week/month to accomplish those things. Try something new! Join a group that shares similar interests and go for it!

3. Invest in something good- Giving puts you in a good space -period. Find ways to contribute your resources, time, ideas, or connections for a worthy cause. Trust me, it feels good going out and it definitely comes back to you.

4. Plan accordingly- Don't let life catch you off guard! In order for any of the previous steps to be possible, you must plan. As the saying goes "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail". Buy a journal, write down your visions, assignments, and any other factors you deem necessary for success. Prioritize and make the most of each day.

Following these steps will help you break through to the good side of life, and reap the long awaited benefits of joy.
